Concord, NH: New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement regarding Tax Day 2019:

"Democrats and the mainstream media have been tripping over themselves in order to lie about the historic Tax Reform passed in 2018. Despite these shameless attempts by Democrats to downplay the benefits of tax cuts, the facts remain clear."

  • 82% of middle-class Americans saw a tax cut in 2018, with an average savings of more than $1,260.
  • 90% of Americans saw an increase in take home pay.
  • Wages grew 3.2% in 2018, the best growth rate in 10 years.
  • Average hourly earnings increased.
  • Jobless claims are at the lowest since 1969.
  • The U.S. added 2,679,000 jobs in the year following the passage of the Tax Cuts And Jobs Act, that’s nearly a 25% increase from the previous year.

"Thanks to President Trump's leadership, Americans are seeing more money in their paychecks and less in their tax bills. That's a true delivered promise to the American people, and while Democrats want to roll back the cuts, Republicans are always looking for new ways to further lower the tax burden and stimulate our economy."
