Concord, NH - NHGOP Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement regarding the latest NHGOP Digital Ad, highlighting Senator Jeanne Dietsch and her Senate Democrat colleagues’ attempt to implement an income tax on Granite Staters:
“The people of Senate District 09 deserve to know what their state senator is doing on their behalf in Concord. Senator Dietsch has long voted in lockstep with the Democrat party, but her latest stunt puts her further out-of-touch from those she represents. Her attempt to implement a 6.2% income tax would destroy the New Hampshire Advantage and devastate our Granite State economy. We believe her constituents deserve to know about her $313 million tax increase, and it’s best that they hear about her proposal in her own words.”
The digital ad can be viewed here.
Senator Dietsch's testimony shown in the video:
“This proposed “close the loophole” tax would require New Hampshire employers to continue to deduct 6.2% from high earners, even after they have passed the cap, and send it to the state. The New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration estimates that this could raise $313 million per year from the top 42,000 high earners.”
