Shaheen Plays Politics with COVID-19 Relief for Granite Staters

Concord, N.H. – New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Stephen Stepanek released the following statement today criticizing Senator Jeanne Shaheen for voting against the latest U.S. Senate COVID-19 relief bill, which among other provisions would provide hundreds of billions in relief for Americans and create liability protections for small businesses, schools, doctors and others seeking to reopen.

“Instead of voting for pragmatic, sensible relief for the people of New Hampshire, Jeanne Shaheen continues to put party over people,” said Stepanek. “Granite Staters want leadership and action, not a career politician who would rather play D.C. politics and votes with Democrat Majority Leader Chuck Schumer 91 percent of the time. Instead of being focused on tackling the economic and public health crises stemming from global pandemic and moving forward as a state and nation, Shaheen is playing politics with relief for families. With her vote last week, Shaheen made it clear that she cares more about states like Illinois and New York than she does about New Hampshire."
